In 2010 I put aside Digital Metaltypes as my principal medium and started drawing. I began painting ernestly in 2012, principally with gouache and later in oils. These early drawings and paintings are signposts on the path that has led me to my current figurative work.
Through all the hard work and frustrations, my practice remains immensely satisfying—the smells of the materials, the look of a particular section of a painting that I had not intended, the sheer alchemistic connection between eye and hand in the act of creating. I hope never to loose the sense of mysterious wonder about how it all happens.
